Marketplace Rules

Last updated August 19, 2026

1. Keep Classmade education-focused

Classmade is for legitimate educational-resource activity. Seller accounts are for adults such as teachers, tutors, homeschool educators, school staff, curriculum or resource creators and education organizations. Classmade is not a general-purpose ecommerce platform.

Do not create a Seller account if you are a student or minor, if your primary purpose is unrelated retail or if you intend to use the store mainly to evade another platform’s rules, payment restrictions or enforcement.

2. Make Resources appropriate for the audience you name

Every Resource must have a legitimate educational purpose and be reasonably appropriate for the grade, age range, subject and learner audience you identify. Choose accurate audience labels, review the complete Resource before publishing and do not rely on a Classmade-generated title, description, classification or price suggestion as approval of the material.

Public-facing store names, Resource titles, cover images, thumbnails, descriptions and preview material must be suitable for broad public viewing, including by educators, parents and students who may encounter the page. Content inside an age-appropriate Resource can address sensitive subjects when the educational purpose and presentation are clear.

Do not use Classmade for primarily adult entertainment, exploitative or gratuitously graphic material, or content materially inconsistent with the learner audience represented in the listing. By choosing Publish or Published, you confirm the educational purpose, audience suitability, broad-public suitability of the listing preview and your right to sell the content.

3. Never upload student personal information

Do not upload or publish real student names, personal email addresses, photos, voice recordings, grades, assessment results, IEP or accommodation information, health information, disciplinary records, identifiable student work or other information that can reasonably identify a student.

The same rule applies to AI prompts, support messages, store pages and preview files. Use fictional, anonymized or properly licensed examples instead.

4. Sell only what you have the right to sell

Do not upload stolen, pirated or unauthorized material. This includes scans or copies of textbooks and commercial workbooks, secure or leaked tests, answer keys obtained without permission, school or district material you do not own, unlicensed stock assets, copyrighted characters used without permission, or material that violates an employer or work-for-hire agreement.

You may teach about, quote or reference third-party works where the law or a licence permits it, but calling something educational does not automatically create permission to copy it.

5. No deceptive or manipulative listings

Do not use misleading titles, fake reviews, fabricated credentials, impersonation, deceptive previews, hidden material differences, keyword spam or claims that a Resource is officially approved by a school board, government, publisher or standards body when it is not.

Do not mass-publish near-duplicate or low-value material designed mainly to manipulate search, discovery or buyer trust.

6. No illegal, harmful or exploitative content

Do not publish material that is illegal; facilitates fraud or unauthorized access; contains malware; exploits or sexualizes minors; is primarily pornographic; credibly threatens violence; promotes terrorism or violent extremist activity; or primarily promotes dehumanizing hatred against protected groups.

Legitimate educational treatment of history, health, sexuality, conflict, discrimination, religion or other sensitive subjects is not prohibited merely because the subject is difficult. Context, educational purpose, intended age and presentation matter.

7. No prohibited or unsupported commerce

Do not use Classmade to sell physical goods, controlled substances, weapons, gambling products, financial schemes, counterfeit goods, stolen material or other regulated or illegal products. Do not use a Resource listing as a disguised payment link for unrelated services or off-platform activity that Classmade does not support.

8. Automated and AI assistance is still your responsibility

Classmade may suggest editable listing details or you may use lawful AI assistance unless a specific feature or policy says otherwise. You remain responsible for checking accuracy, bias, accessibility, age appropriateness, originality, price and intellectual-property rights before publishing.

Do not represent AI-generated material as independently researched, officially approved or personally authored where that representation would mislead a reasonable buyer. A suggested listing is never Classmade approval of the Resource.

9. Buyer information and communications

Use buyer order information only for lawful order support, accounting and communications for which you have an appropriate legal basis. Do not sell buyer data, add buyers to unrelated lists without permission or use Classmade to send spam, harassment or deceptive messages.

10. Security and platform integrity

Do not attempt to bypass authentication, access another store’s data, probe private systems without authorization, interfere with service availability, automate abusive traffic, distribute malicious code or evade enforcement through alternate accounts.

11. Enforcement and reports

Classmade may remove content, request evidence, restrict features, pause paid selling, suspend or terminate accounts when we reasonably believe these Rules have been violated or when action is needed for law, audience safety, fraud prevention, payment risk or marketplace integrity.

Reports can be sent to hi@classmade.co. Include the store or Resource, what you believe is wrong and any useful supporting information. We may ask for more information and may provide an appeal or response opportunity when appropriate and legally permitted.
